“This morning Mouhamad (and his charming Vera Cruz born wife) surfaced, and the news is all good. He has his own shop, Tripoli Halal Meat. It’s just to the right of Tasty China I at Lower Loop 120 corner of Franklin Road in Marietta.
He’s got the same world class Georgia grass fed lamb and beef as he carried at Buford Hwy Farmers Market, at prices almost 25% less than the BHFM meat counter.”

Steve Drucker from Chowhound

“Mohammed, “your culinary market ambassador,” makes the kabobs fresh every day at the renovated treasure trove just past I-285 on Buford Highway. He uses American lamb that’s all natural, grass-fed, and always ground on site. The type of lamb used is mild, not aggressive, so the kabobs will appeal to your kiddies, who may not be lamb-ready. There’s also a nice amount of fat in the kabobs, so don’t worry if you overcook them. They’ll still be juicy.”

Halal

What is Halal?

Halal is Arabic for permissible. Halal food is that which adheres to Islamic law, as defined in the Koran. It must comply with the religious ritual and observance of Sharia Law.

What is the process?

The animal, lamb, beef, veal, and goat, is 100% grass fat. The chicken is vegeterian fed, grown without antibiotics. The form of slaughtering animals or poultry, dhabiha, involves killing through a cut to the jugular vein, carotid artery and windpipe. Animals must be alive and healthy at the time of slaughter and all blood is drained from the carcass. During the process, a Muslim will recite a dedication, know as tasmiya or shahada.
